Are Court Records Public in Limestone County?

The 77th and 87th District Courts have concurrent jurisdiction in Limestone County per Texas Government Code § 24.179, meaning either court may hear felony criminal matters. Limestone County Family Court Records
Family law matters — divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, termination of parental rights, and domestic violence protective orders — fall primarily under the jurisdiction of the 77th and 87th District Courts in Limestone County. - Death certificates — Restricted for 25 years per § 552.115(a)(2) of the Texas Government Code; only eligible requesters may obtain copies within that period. After 25 years, death records become public. The first certified copy costs $21, and additional copies of the same record obtained at the same time cost $4 each.
